Cameron Smith
Cameron Smith is folk singer-songwriter and musician from Fort Worth, Texas.
Coming of age in the underground punk scene, he grew up writing and touring the country with bands playing heavier music before maturing into his own voice and sound as a songwriter.
Smith’s songs weave stories of outsiders, love, legacy, growth and loss into his own poetic and subtle blend of country tinged folk and rock that reveres experimentation as much as it honors and embraces tradition.
His music builds equally upon influence from classic songwriters like Fred Neil, Townes Van Zandt and Roger Miller, as it does from indie artists such as Smog, Silver Jews and Magnolia Electric Co.
NPR affiliate KXT 91.7FM wrote of his most recent album, “Through love and pain, Shine, encapsulates a special and sacred moment in time.
…After a decade of leading rock bands, Smith’s solo career is just starting to blossom. The boundless nature of his creativity will surely produce uniquely thoughtful perspectives, entangled in captivating musical phrases. . .
The lyrics of the album cast healing into the ether as Smith draws upon his own memories that are universal to the human experience.”
