Once described as “Kate Bush’s gothic darkness brought to the edge of oblivion”, the enigmatic New Yorker Heather Elle is bold and unapologetic with their lyrics and performance. Since 2020, after untethering themself from two buzzy post-punk groups, Bodega and The Wants, Heather has self-produced two EP’s and six music videos, covered Ministry with blues punk icon Shilpa Ray, remixed tracks for Brighton’s feminist electro-punks CLT DRP and local industrial heroes Cuneiform, and produced a revolutionary feminist podcast ‘Private Life’ with Bodega’s drummer, Tai Lee. In early 2022, Heather teamed up with drummer James Maclay (Chairlift, Frankie Rose) to bring the songs to life. ‘World of Mirth’ is out now via London’s Brace Yourself Records with live dates to follow.
