Winkie
The New York band Winkie are two piece that offer up an arresting mixture of driving noise and ethereal melody, wrapped in an array of striking visual imagery. Winkie often feel more like oblique performance art, or the darker edges of artists such as Killing Joke, The Cranes, Suicide, and The Jesus & Mary Chain. They offer the listener a unique combination of grinding, industrial despair and swooning gothic melody… far down the abstract, avant-garde road.
Kristeen Young
"Yves Tumor, Kate Bush, Diamanda Galas are all attempts to explain hard-to-describe artist, Kristeen Young. But, they are wrong. You can't find a comparison because there isn't one, and isn't that a nice change? She plays piano/keyboard in a dissonant bashing style, sings using a wide range with operatic vocals, and her lyrics eviscerate in a playful way like an afternoon with a victorian child ghost. You'll be dead but you will have enjoyed your own life's kill.”
- DNA Lounge, San Francisco
Sam Tyndall (of Cuneiform)
Sam Tyndall leads the nihilist group Cuneiform. Cuneiform's drummer broke their wrist and Sam will be performing a set of songs written specifically for this show- never to be played again.
HRRD TOP
HRRD TOP is the newest solo project of multi-instrumentalist Alyse Lamb (Parlor Walls, EULA) :: Combining mesmerizing, noisy pop with cutting lyrics and swirling melodies.
