Orchid's work examines and interrogates narratives of queerness, violence, and science fiction/fantasy tropes. Fusing song, composition, and improvisation into a maelstrom of sound, she draws from influences including composer/multi-instrumentalist Henry Threadgill, songwriter Katie Dey, and video game writer/director Yoko Taro.

Current projects include orchiddBB (with Vivek Menon, Jennifer Sapiro, and Mario Fontes) and the collaborative trio Dot Iso (with Vivek Menon and Dylan DelGiudice). Both groups are in the process of preparing their debut album. Past projects include the now-defunct experimental band Bald Uakari and the short-lived improvisation collective Active Field 6.

Orchid has performed or recorded with Billy Martin, Daniel Carter, Mike Ladd, the Creative Music Studio Improvisers Ensemble, Tree Signs, Selendis Sebastian Alexander Johnson, and others. Orchid has collaborated extensively with artists outside of music including digital/textile artist Vân Anh, choreographers Alicia Steeves and Andrea Muñiz, and video artist Jon Denton. Her works have been performed by S.E.M. Ensemble, Terence Blanchard & Neil Leonard, the Berklee Interdisciplinary Arts Institute, and Charlie Feig. Orchid has also performed administrative duties, including copyist work, marketing, and archiving, for a variety of artists and organizations including Ned Rothenberg, Marty Ehrlich, and Thomas Buckner.
